Warchive
Warchive started as a passion project of mine back in TBC Classic, a little addon called BountyBoard. It began with bounties and kept growing as I added more to it: a list of enemies, ratings for the people you group with, dungeon runs, and in the end a website to put it all on. When WoW Forever came along I took it apart and rebuilt it for the new servers, and BountyBoard became Warchive.
What do I need?
I recommend getting both, the addon and the sync program. The addon is your in-game journal, and it works on its own. But the program is what makes the rest happen:
- Confirmed kills. It reads the combat log, so it knows who really landed the killing blow and who helped. The journal fixes its guesses from that.
- Your stuff on this website. Kill feed, leaderboard, bounties and ratings.
- Full names and classes. The combat log has them, even for people you never targeted.
- Your numbers in the journal. Your website totals, your Renown and the PvP achievements, which need confirmed kills.
- A backup. If the addon gets wiped or you reinstall WoW, your journal comes back.
- Combat log cleanup. WoW never deletes its combat logs. The program does, once they're 2 days old.
Easiest way: grab the program, it offers to install the addon for you.
The addon
The journal. Enemies, kills, bounties, ratings, dungeon runs, planned adventures. Works on its own.
The program
Sits in your tray and carries your journal to warchive.dev. Windows only.
Other projects
Black Book
A chat filter for WoW Forever. Write down players, guilds or words, and their messages, chat bubbles and guild or group invites stop showing up. Your ignore list isn't touched and nobody gets told.
Black Book
Unzip it into World of Warcraft\_forever_\Interface\AddOns, you'll get one BlackBook folder. Open it in game with the minimap button, or type /bk in chat.
Azeroth Legends
An idle game I've been working on between Warchive releases.
Coming soonHow to check a download's hash
The hash is a fingerprint of the file. If yours matches the one on this page, you got exactly the file I put up. On Windows, open PowerShell in the folder you downloaded to and run:
Get-FileHash .\Warchive-1.0.0.exe
Swap in the name of the file you got. It prints a long string of letters and numbers that should match the one here. The program also checks its own updates against my signature, so you only need this for the first download.
